Bay Area Shakespeare Camps are 2-week sessions which offer students (ages 7-18 from all over the Bay Area) the opportunity to study Shakespeare's theatre in a fun, supportive atmosphere. Campers are taught by theatre practitioners who lead interactive classes in Shakespeare's poetry, clowning traditions, and stage combat. The camp culminates in a final performance of an abridged Shakespeare play for family and friends. Visit our FAQ page for additional information!
Our two-week Shakespeare Players Camp offers students the chance to stage a classic Shakespeare play. For summer of 2019 Shakespeare Players will be staging productions of The Witches' Brew, Macbeth, and The Merry Wives of Windsor. Camps run from June to August throughout the summer, in convenient locations throughout San Francisco, the East Bay, South Bay and Peninsula.
Teen actors delve deeply into the world of Shakespearean performance in our Upstart Crows programs. During the summer, SF Shakes offers teen camps throughout the Bay Area that culminate in a student production of King Lear. Over the spring and fall, Upstart Crows Saturdays produce a Shakespeare play over the course of 10-12 weeks in San Francisco.
