Bidalia Albanese Education Workgroup Member

Bidalia  (she/her) is a native New Yorker and is so excited to be part of the Education Workgroup. She is also a choreographer, movement director, and director around the Bay Area. She graduated from The Guildford School of Acting in England and is an alumnus from The School of American Ballet in NYC. She has performed in the UK, NYC, and SF Bay Area Theatre Companies. Favorite roles include Camila from In The Heights, (Custom Made Theatre) Marisol in Jose Rivers’ a Marisol (Sanford Meisner Theatre NYC) Frau Blucher in Young Frankenstein (CM. NY), and Charity Barnum in Barnum (23E) Bidalia also is a proud co-founder of 23 Elephants Theatre Company with her husband Steven Hess also an actor/writer. They were awarded The Best Of SF Fringe for their musical Unspeakable Act at The Exit Theatre. See more at www.23elephants.org

Brittany (they/them) is a Teaching Artist, Director, and Actor. A Seattle Native who loves to share stories. Graduated with B.A in Communications: Film studies and a minor in Dramatic Arts from Northwest University. For the last six years they have served as a teaching artist with Seattle’s Young Shakespeare Workshop. They’ve portrayed Rosalind in YSW’s As You Like It in 2016 & 2017 summer shows. They directed the main stage production of The Tempest, served as the Stage Manager for the production of The Diary of Anne Frank, and participated on stage in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead and at Northwest University. They are looking forward to working alongside fellow artists at San Francisco Shakespeare Festival.

Evan Held Education Workgroup Member

Evan (he/him) is a graduate from the Pacific Conservatory of Performing Arts (PCPA), and excited to be working with the Education Workgroup! He’s been involved in numerous Shakespeare productions across the years. He’s done shows all over Sonoma and Marin counties with companies such as Shakespeare in the Cannery, Redwood Theater Company, Ross Valley Players, Spreckels, Word for Word, and Marin Summer Theater. He also performed in SF Shakes touring production of The Comedy of Errors.

Marie (she/they) has been a Teaching Artist in the Bay Area for the past three years and is beyond excited to be a recent member of the Education Workgroup. A graduate from UC Berkeley with BAs in Theater Performance Studies and Linguistics, Marie has a special interest in the logistics of how communication occurs and the magic of why language connects us. They first joined SF Shakes as a tiny ten year old King Alonso in The Tempest and are honored to return to the other side of camp to continue the legacy of such an empowering program.

Michaela (she/her) has been an  artist and manager with SF Shakes for a decade and is very proud to be participating in the Education Workgroup! She's been involved in the performing arts in the Bay Area for over 15 years, working as an actor, director, choreographer, and educator for several companies including SF Shakes, Los Altos Stage Company, and Los Altos Youth Theatre. Michaela received a B.F.A. in Film Production from Chapman University, and attended Second City's Harold Ramis Film School in Chicago. More at cinemamichaela.com.

Rainier (she/they) is thrilled to be celebrating 15 years of SF Shakes this year, where they began their career as an actor and teaching artist after many years of summer camp. Rainier is currently Boston-based; and works as a freelance teaching artist and director while pursuing an MA/MFA in Theatre Education at Emerson College. They’ve worked with with the Bay School of San Francisco, Boston Theatre Company, Arts Resource Collaborative for Kids, MIT, Emerson Stage. Rainier is passionate about using theatre as a tool for fostering community, creativity, and playfulness with the goal of creating together. Rebecca J. Ennals Education Workgroup Member

Rebecca (she/her) has been on the staff of the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival since 2002 and Artistic Director since 2012. She holds a BA in English and Theatre from Scripps College and an MFA in performance from U.C. Davis. She has taught and written curriculum at the elementary through college levels. As a director and teaching artist, she has worked locally with Marin Theatre Company, PlayGround, Napa Valley Shakespeare Festival, Pear Theatre, Napa Valley Repertory Theatre, Peninsula Youth Theatre, Los Altos Youth Theatre and Shakespeare At Stinson. Ms. Ennals has directed eight productions for the Festival's Shakespeare On Tour in-school touring program, six productions for the Civic Arts Stage Company program in Pleasanton, and four productions for Free Shakespeare in the Park. She also regularly writes the Festival’s Green Shows and conceived and executed the 2012 pop-up Shakespeare project "30 Days of Free Shakespeare in the Parklet" and the 2017 project “35 Famous Speeches in 35 Famous Places.” She developed a new musical of As You Like It with The Kilbanes and Phil Wong, which was produced in Summer 2019. In 2021 she directed Episode 1 of Free Shakespeare in the Park's four-part production of Pericles, Prince of Tyre.
