The Resident Artists of San Francisco Shakespeare Festival are a core group of actors, designers, directors, and teaching artists who bring their expertise to all of our programs. They uphold SF Shakes' artistic values and serve our mission to provide access to Shakespeare and theatre to everyone regardless of age, ethnicity, financial status, or level of education.

Ron Chapman

Ron Chapman*+ Resident Artist

Ron Chapman*+  is a writer and actor who believes in the power and necessity of storytelling. He appeared as Pericles in Pericles, Prince of Tyre (2021) and Edmund in King Lear (2020), both productions of SF Shakespeare Festival.

Robyn Grahn

Robyn Grahn+ Resident Artist

Robyn Grahn was last seen in the 2017 & 2018 Seasons of San Francisco Shakespeare Tour and absolutely loved it! She recently has taken on the role of Engagement Coordinator and looks forward to facilitating new community stories. She also works for the Mountain Play in Marin acting as Community Engagement Coordinator. Favorite Shakespearean roles include Adriana and the Courtesan (Comedy of Errors), Viola (Twelfth Night), Mercutio & Friar (Romeo and Juliet), and Phoebe (As You Like It). Robyn is often acting or directing with the monthly produced SHOTZ SF. She studied with ACT and the Moscow Art Theatre School. robyngrahn.com

Moore David

David Everett Moore*+ Resident Artist

David is a Bay Area actor and teaching artist. A Resident Artist of the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, David has performed in numerous Free Shakespeare in the Park productions as well as the SF Shakes School Tour, and has taught in the Midnight Shakespeare program along with other in-school residencies. As an actor, David has worked with several regional and local theaters, including Crowded Fire Theater, Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Marin Shakespeare Company, Word for Word, Just Theater, and Marin Theatre Company. David also teaches with Tomorrow Youth Repertory, and has worked as a Teaching Artist at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. David is a proud graduate of UC Berkeley and its Theater and Performance Studies program.

Hs Morones Regina Benvolio

Regina Morones+ Resident Artist

Regina is a native Bay Area actor, singer, educator, a resident artist at San Francisco Shakespeare Festival and a company member at Ubuntu Theater Project. She was recently seen as Meredith in Woman Laughing Alone With Salad at Shotgun Players. Bay Area credits include Woman On Fire (Those Women Productions), Richard III, The Winter's Tale (African American Shakespeare Company), Palace Wreckers, Strange Ladies (Central Works Theater Company), A Streetcar Named Desire, Mother Courage (Ubuntu Theater Project), Love Sick (Jewish Circle Theater), Othello (Marin Shakespeare Company), and Romeo & Juliet (San Francisco Shakespeare Festival). Hs Pantoja Carla Tybalt

Carla Pantoja*+ Resident Artist

Carla, born and raised in the South Bay, is an actor, fight director, teaching artist, and mom of two. She served as Director of Vision for SF Shakes' 2021 Free Shakespeare in the Park production of Pericles, Prince of Tyre and directed episodes 2 and 4.In 2020 she was in the acting company at Oregon Shakespeare Festival. In addition to being he is a Resident Artist with SF Shakes she is Secretary on Dueling Arts International’s governing body. She directed the SF Shakes 2017-2018 Shakespeare on Tour production of Romeo and Juliet and Assistant Directed the 2017 Free Shakespeare in the Park production of Hamlet. She played Paulina in Free Shakespeare in the Park's The Winter’s Tale, Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, and Kate in The Taming of the Shrew. She’s performed with Cal Shakes, Shotgun Players, Crowded Fire, Playground, Lorraine Hansberry Theatre, and the SF Mime Troupe in the Bay Area to name a few. Carla is a certified fight instructor and a founding member of Dueling Arts San Francisco. She is a proud member of Playground.

Sydney Schwindt 2

Sydney Schwindt+ Resident Artist

Sydney is an actor, fight director, teaching artist, and visual artist. She joined the SF Shakes family in 2015 playing Rosalind in the tour of As You Like It. Favorite acting credits include: Laertes Hamlet, SF Shakes; Sally Ride She Persisted the Musical: Bay Area Children’s Theatre; Helena A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Benvolio Romeo and Juliet, Helena Landless Mystery of Edwin Drood Davis Shakespeare Festival; Cassandra Jihad Jones & the Kalashnikov Babes Arabian Shakespeare Festival; Hartford Stage, Berkeley Rep, Mirage Entertainment, The Hampton Theatre Company. Maryssa Wanlass*+ Resident Artist

Maryssa Wanlass has been seen on the SF Shakes stage in Pericles, Prince of Tyre, Macbeth, The Winter’s Tale, Hamlet, and As You Like It. Other acting credits include As You Like It (California Shakespeare Theatre); Book Club Play, Breaking the Code (Jewel Theatre); Betrayal (Pear Theatre); Much Ado About Nothing, Good Person of Szechuan (Woman’s Will). Wanlass is also passionate about social justice theatre and has directed at-risk young adults in Shakespeare plays and taught improv to California’s maximum-security inmates. Additionally she is currently the Engagement Director for San Francisco Shakespeare Festival.
