Students of all levels will find this quintessential comedy both engaging and enriching, The antic behavior of Shakespeare's mechanicals and the mix ups between Lysander, Hermia, Demetrius, and Helena will have your students laughing out loud! The confusions and misguided affections found in this play make it a delight for audiences of all ages. Plus, the inclusion of a couple of walk-on roles for volunteers will have your audience waiting to see what comes next!
Our one-hour touring production travels to you with a cast of professional actors in costume, with set, props, and sound track. At the conclusion of the show, performed in Shakespeare's original text, the cast will stay for a short Q&A session with the audience.
Included are educator's curriculum materials. Written especially for teachers, and indexed to California State Standards, the will readily facilitate an enhanced understanding of the plot, themes, character motives, and language found in Shakespeare’s writing. Additionally, a copy of the script the cast is using is provided so that the show you are seeing may be reviewed in advance.
For even more engagement, add on PLAYSHOP - an active, one-hour, participatory classroom experience that will deepen your students' appreciation of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Imaginative vocal and physical exercises will have your students embodying Shakespeare's language and discovering on their own that it's readily understood as well as relevant.
